Why Use an Online Content Marketing Calendar

01/26/12

Social media calendar

Digg DiggA content marketing calendar helps you track your online social media content strategy.  It sounds simple, but following through with your schedule is likely the hardest part! The focus of a content marketing calendar allows you to schedule your strategy and to take advantage of profitable times throughout the year—which make your marketing efforts both timely and effective.  To prepare a marketing calendar for your real estate business gives you time to produce quality online content in advance and measure your objectives for the upcoming months. How you can benefit: Keep consistency-  Your marketing message should be communicated consistently among all social networks despite the time of promotion. Whether you have a campaign launching in February and one in December, you want to ensure consistency across Facebook and Twitter throughout the year. Accountability- Any content that is distributed online should be marked on the calendar. The social media calendar… Continue reading →

Remove Words Like ‘I Cant’ From Your Vocabulary

01/24/12

shutterstock_87326206

Start paying close attention to what you say – you may be alarmed by how often you say things like “I can’t” or  ”that won’t work.” Without realizing it, you are limiting yourself and closing your mind to the possibilities that might be available. The mind is capable of producing wonderfully amazing results. However, all too often, we place limits on the power of the mind because of the words we use and the commands we feed into it. You see, although the mind is capable of great results, it will function according to the type of input it receives, or how it is programmed. So, when we say, “I can’t” the mind will treat that input as a command of sorts and the *I can’t* attitude becomes reality. It works the same for other negative words or phrases. Instead of slamming the door shut on a world of possibilities, give yourself… Continue reading →

Why You Should Outsource Your Social Media

01/19/12

shutterstock_84602725

Not every real estate agent has time to manage multiple social media accounts. When you research ways to improve your real estate business, you are likely to come across posts that make their case to invest time in using Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and now Pinterest! On top of that, you’re required to write posts for your blog on a weekly or monthly basis, depending on how you set it up. Luckily, outsourcing your social media tasks to social media management companies like Goodfellow Creative can help you with that. As social marketing continues to grow, agents should consider outsourcing most of their social media for several reasons. 1. Not enough time-It’s not that social media is difficult. Most realtors are beginning to embrace it, but most struggle with flexibility of their schedule to include social media. By the time you identify your goals and a strategy, you will realize… Continue reading →

Characteristics of a Center of Influence(COI)

01/16/12

shutterstock_46881631

Conversations abound on how to develop a relationship with a COI, and all the benefits it would bring. But what would it mean to your business if YOU were a COI?  COIs do more than just hand out leads. They function at a higher level. There’s a charisma and empowerment involved. You must have something more to give if you want to be seen as influential and successful. They have mastered the art of conveying themselves in a winning way. They know  how to convey their charisma as well as their strengths (expertise, success, reputation, influence, etc.) even when their target audience reaches beyond their local community (were you can be seen and experienced in-person), and extends nationally or internationally via telephone, conference call, teleclasses, tele-coaching or email (where you are not experienced in-person). They understand the importance of visibility. They are always “present.” You always hear from them one way or another (articles, books,… Continue reading →

Boost Traffic with Online Video

01/12/12

In December 2011, YouTube released their latest makeover to its users. The overall changes were made for their layout and design to modernize their homepage, enhance a more branded page for YouTube channels, and provide social media strategists analytics to measure their video marketing efforts on the platform. The beginning of the year has shed light on what’s expected for marketers this year and YouTube videos are listed as one of the top 3 real estate marketing trends for 2012. I’m surprised the real estate industry hasn’t adapted to online video any sooner. Jeremy Scott recently wrote this article and said, “As someone who recently  went through the whole home-buying routine, I’ve been waiting for a real estate company or agent to get way outside the box and create something with the ability to go viral.” As we embark on a new year, I think it’s perfect timing for real… Continue reading →

01/05/12

shutterstock_50618386

As we embark on a new year, I think it’s time for some character building to help you successfully get through the next twelve months. When It seems strange to be discussing what we all know is patently obvious.  You talk it up with your family, associates, schools, advertisers, governments – everyone. Let’s take a minute and review just what “Being Honest” really means! Honesty means being authentic.   Honesty is a reflection of yourself and your true feelings. If you want people to know who you really are, just be honest. Honesty shows courage. It takes an immense amount of courage to say what you feel. It is difficult and takes practice and patience. Honesty shows you care. When you’re honest, with yourself and others, it shows how much you really care. When people experience a caring attitude – it makes them stop and think. Honesty creates a circle of… Continue reading →

2012: What’s In Store For Goodfellow Real Estate Coaching and Social Media?

01/03/12

Let’s face it–When we talk about marketing, it’s hard not to hear the words ‘social media’ thrown in around there and opposite of what some have said: social media is here to stay. The dynamics of communication has shifted entirely from one-way communication to two-way creating a conversation, increasing engagement, and a strong use of digital media. As we saw the emergence of new and revised online social platforms such as Google+ and Facebook’s Timeline last year, 2012 will be about creating more content to retain the connections we’ve already fostered online. Yesterday, Goodfellow Real Estate Coaching‘s Marketing team came together for our first meeting of the year to brainstorm ideas on how we can better integrate social media into our marketing mix and to help amplify our message to create increased brand awareness. By the end of it, we thought about 3 areas we would like to focus on with social media this year: optimized sharing, increased traffic to YouTube channel, and deliver quality customer service.

Are Salespeople Getting Away From Selling?

12/20/11

It’s a few days before Christmas, and I was sitting in my office finishing a review of my plans for next year, when a question came to my mind– ”How can I help my clients increase their sales next year”? I thought I would share  some of my thoughts with you. There is no question that “sales” remains a contact business.  If we examine the sales process and define how it should work, we discover that most importantly, you need to have an up-to-date data base and  feed it daily.  Of course a great website that is producing results is another necessity.    Hard-copy marketing must be effective and the results tested, based on ROI. All  marketing and lead generation should be tracked and followed up on. In reference to my original statement, about salespeople getting away from selling, I think in many cases they are. In the Real Estate industry what we have to sell… Continue reading →
